Hello everyone, welcome to our Dharma talk at Dharma Rain Meditation Center.

In last couple weeks we discussed perform according to the Tao, where does Tao come from, today we are going to a new section: the significance of performing in accordance with the Tao.

  Performing in accordance with the Tao.is to follow the laws of the universe, purify ourselves, and return to the origin. The premise is that there is being egoless and unconditioned, willing to purify, to change, and conform to the laws of the universe. So, the destination of the Tao is also very clear, which is to return to the centre of the universe, the source of energy, the existence that has no beginning or end, the sea of Buddha’s heart and nature sea.

Lao Tzu said: The kingdom is a spirit-like thing, and cannot be got by active doing He who would so win it destroys it; he who would hold it in his grasp loses it. The course and nature of things are such that What was in front is now behind; What warmed anon we freezing find. Strength is of the weakness of the spoil; The store in ruins mocks our toil. If we want to achieve such a transcendent state, we cannot obtain it by designing away with current cognition and wisdom. Nature and the laws of the universe are incomparably magical. We cannot make it obey us; we have to follow it. Take an example, if I am a planet, like the earth. Not only do I have to rotate, but we also need to revolve around a star, like a sun. We can’t do whatever we want with our temperament and our own ideas, but we have to let our own ideas go, being egoless and unconditioned. We have to do what should be done, follow the path of the universe law, give ourselves to the universe, cooperate with the operation of the universe, rather than manage or dominate it. Of course, this is not an easy process; it is a process of constantly letting go of the “self-ego” and a process of continuous purification, the process of “being egoless and unconditioned “. Only by conforming to the Tao we can get purification and ascension.

However, one of the most important laws of the universe is the respect laws; that is, the universe respects the choices of every being. Each life is in a different form, at a different level of evolution, and at different opportunities. So, walking along the road of “being egoless and unconditioned” may not be the choice of every life for now, but in the end, it will be so.

In a sense, the world is nothing but an illusion. But the reincarnation of life exists, the Dharma Realm of hell, the Dharma Realm of hungry ghosts, the world of animals, the Dharma Realm of asuras, the Dharma Realm of humans, the Dharma Realm of Heaven, the Dharma Realm of Sravaka, the Dharma Realm of Praetyka, and the Dharma Realm of bodhisattva and Buddha are existing; the realm of Dharma exist, and the realms of ten Dharma are real. The enlightenment level and mentality of sentient beings in different realms are completely different, and their codes of energy information are also very different. Not every being can let go of his/her attachment to the self-ego at this moment and conform to the laws of the universe; however, if they cannot, they must accept the punishment, such as staying the reincarnation.

As human beings, we need faith to a large extent. Throughout the history of human religion, human faith either worships super-nature energy or the spokesperson of high-level creatures; there is no wisdom at all. Fortunately, Osifu teaches us not to be superstitious about anyone or even any scriptures. Human beings should believe in the truth and the laws of the universe. He taught us that all creatures in the universe are equal. Gods, Buddhas, immortals, and sages are really high-level life forms, but they are not the “boss.” They cannot control the destiny of humankind and the earth. The law of the universe is the rule, and humankind himself is deciding his own destiny. After the end of human life, what kind of life form will be in the next life is determined by our choices in this life. And the only thing that can judge the choices is the law of the universe, which will also determine the ascent or degeneration of our life levels. Performing in accordance with the Tao, the life level will ascend, vice versa.
